Mistley Place Park

Mistley Place Park is a remnant of a former Georgian parkland landscape on the banks of the River Stour in north Essex.   This project is one of a number of projects being undertaken by the Three Parishes Trust with the aim of creating better facilities and opportunities for the local community across Mistley, Manningtree and Lawford.

AREA were commissioned to prepare an initial study, supported by a grant from the Community Assets and Services Grants Programme made available by Department for Communities & Local Government under the Localism Act. The key aim was to asses the potential of the park and explore mechanisms by which it could be secured, restored and developed as a green open space for the future benefit of the whole community.
