AYLESBURY SITE SEVEN - HARVARD GARDENS

Diespeker Wharf, London

A proposal for new courtyards and play areas in the housing regeneration programme for the Aylesbury Estate in London.

Client: London Boroguh of Southwark Architect: Pollard Thomas Edwards Completed 2017

Masterplan

Aylesbury Site 7 is part of a phased regeneration programme started by the London Borough of Southwark to redevelop the public housing on the Aylesbury Estate.

We worked closely with Pollard Thomas Edwards, who proposed 147 new homes fit into two new urban blocks, to create communal courtyards and new play spaces in the center of these blocks and a new pocket park on the corner of two adjacent streets. The ground floor level homes were given access to the central communal courtyards from their private back gardens. These communal courtyards include play areas for different age ranges, bike storage, added trees and vegetation and private amenity areas for residents.
